Water – Life-giving. Holy water is used in various facets by the Catholic Church. You may come across the priest who sprinkles holy water to bless the congregation. In the Sacrament of Baptism, infant baptism has the child’s forehead being pour with holy water while it is immersion for adults. In blessing a home, again holy water is used by the priest who sprinkles in the rooms as prayers are recited. What is the symbolic meaning of water being used in the Catholic Church? Why is water so important? If I were to drink some holy water, will it make me holier?
